PUSHING OUTSTANDING SOULS HIGHER
P.O.S.H. stands for pushing outstanding souls higher. We believe that everyone has the power in them to do great and amazing things--given that PUSH in the right direction. Our non-profit P.O.S.H. PUSH uses the performing arts, fitness and life skills training to shape individuals not only physically, but creatively, mentally, healthy, forward thinking leaders. Many individuals with financially challenged backgrounds usually aren’t afforded opportunities to train in the arts. Organizations such as P.O.S.H. PUSH, provides them with these opportunities and in turn they have a more level playing field with individuals who have enriched experiences.
We truly believe creativity drives learning. Not only does our organization expose individuals to the arts but the skills developed in arts education often have a positive impact on their academics every aspect of their life. We feel that by stimulating individuals through the arts, they will become more motivated and inspired individuals. These are the type of individuals that will create positive change in our community and the world. With the support of our non-profit, committed staff, sponsors and dedicated members, we can create positive change through the arts.
Monique Brogan-Doss is a professional dance artist, educator and choreographer, born and raised in New Orleans, LA. Monique has been training in dance for 20+ years in a variety of genres including ballet, modern, contemporary, lyrical, jazz and hip-hop—to name a few. Monique earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Education, at the University of Southern Mississippi . She is also a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc.
Monique has been passionately instructing dance since she was a preteen and hasn’t stopped since. From summer camps to studio classes, master classes to one on one sessions and workshops, She has always found a place with guiding and assisting others in her beloved art form, dance. Monique currently works part time at Young Audiences Upper School and also at Audubon Gentilly, through Young Audiences. She also is the director and lead instructor of POSH Expressions Performing Arts Experience(POSH). POSH is Monique’s local performing arts training program where top notch performing arts and life skills training take place. Monique also does private sessions, workshops and events through her business, POSH Expressions LLC.
Monique is pursuing her goals to be an accomplished performing artist, educator and choreographer both in the states and overseas. A few of Monique's credits include Beyoncé Lemonade project, New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival and Essence Music Festival with Tisha Campbell-Martin & Wendy Raquel Robinson, Bazzi, Drake, The Loverbirds movie and Claws tv series. Monique believes each individual has the potential to be great and do great things. She works to provide guidance, support and inspiration to individuals on their journey to unlocking their true potential.
